What is 'extensive reading'?

 

Extensive reading is a type of reading where you read for enjoyment, where you read to get the general understanding and at the same time you learn the basic reading skills.

Extensive reading allows you to get used to reading fluently as well as builds up your vocabulary

 

Examples of Extensive Reading:

  • MAGAZINES = articles that you find interesting

  • NOVELS AND STORYBOOKS = stories that you read during your free time

What is 'intensive reading'?

 

Intensive reading is a type of reading where you reading a short text to obtain  specific information.

You read the text to find the specific details  that you need.

 

Examples of Intensive Reading:

Before signing a contract

Insurance claim

Financial report
